Digital Drawing: Allison

Allison

This is the lovely Allison.

I’m quite happy with the eyes on this drawing. I discovered that when I run it though certain filters in photoshop, it starts to look more like a real photo than a digital drawing! But here it is as I painted it, raw and unfiltered.

Digital Drawing: Ghost Girl

Ghost Girl

Here is my first digital painting since college!

It seems fitting that she is ghost like. I just finished reading Audrey Niffenegger’s new book, Her Fearful Symmetry, and I’ve got little ghost girls on the brain.

Do YOU want to become a digital illustration?
My hope is to use this blog as a motivator, and start posting my art at least once a week. In order to get better, I need to practice. In order to practice, I need reference photos. If you would like me to attempt to draw YOU (or someone you know), please send me a photo! High quality portraits with interesting/good lighting is preferred… but I’m sure I can work with anything :) Just leave a comment on this post, or send me an email with the photo you would like me to use!

Shiny and New

I’ve finally joined in… I’ve started a blog.
I will keep my introduction brief for now, but I thought I should let you know what to expect from this in the future. I want this blog to be a creative outlet and a place of inspiration! Art, web design, illustration, crafting– both mine and those I find elsewhere. What it all comes down to is that I would like to somehow contribute to the massive blogging community… and while I’m not quite sure how it will all pan out, I’m glad to have finally taken the first steps. I am also excited to see how it will evolve over the coming months.
So, welcome! Hello! Thank you for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon!
